The summer term is a bit different. There are typically 11 weeks of summer, but you will only be charged for 8 lessons. This give flexibility for vacations etc.

Discounts

A discount is given off the lesson or class fee for each additional student within the same family or for each additional instrument.

Termination of Lessons

Lessons may be terminated at the end of any month after two months of lessons provided a one month's notice is given. Students will be enrolled for the next term unless the school is notified. Please note that if a student stops coming to lessons with no notification, then the student will be charged for the current month plus the following month.

Make-Up Lessons

Since a student's progress is dependent on regular lessons and practice, we hope every effort will be made to attend each lesson. However, if a lesson must be missed, Mason's School of Music offers up to two make-up lessons per Fall and Spring semesters, provided all the following procedures and guidelines are followed.

1. Notification of an absence must be made at least 24 hours before lesson.
2. Musikgarten or group lessons can be made up by attending a similar class within the same week of the missed lesson. Please ask the instructor for the appropriate class times.
3. Private lessons can be made up within a one week time period of the missed lesson at the instructor's convenience. Please ask your instructor for possible times.
4. No credits will be given for missed lessons.

Instructor Absence

If an instructor must cancel a lesson, he or she will contact you before the lesson and inform you of possible make-up times. Musikgarten and group lessons will be made up by attending a similar class, and private lessons will be rescheduled at a time convenient to both the student and the instructor. Music Lab classes will continue as scheduled.

Holidays

Masons's School of Music follows the Leon County school schedule. We are typically closed on Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgivng week, Christmas week and the week following, Martin Luther King Day, Spring Break and July 4th. Please view our calendar for specific dates.

Weather Related Closings

We will abide by the national, state and local authorities' decisions on school closings. Typically this means if Leon County Schools close, so will we. Instructors are not required to make up these lessons.
